Amazing Things Happen

There is a bumper sticker that has been around for awhile now – it says, “Crap Happens” (well, you have probably seen it and it’s not quite so nice, but you get the gist).  Lots of people really related to that bumper sticker when it came out.  We all have things happen to us that we feel are bad, yucky, unwanted.  Sometimes it seems to come out of the blue.  Sometimes it feels like we have days of it on end.

But even while crap is happening, so are amazing things.  Amazing things happen all the time too.  A perfect stranger gives us a smile just when we really need one.  A child holds a door open for us.  The sun shines just when we thought it may never again.  Someone is kind to us for no reason at all.  Amazing things happen.

Let’s not be looking for the crap to happen.  Let’s start looking for all the amazing things instead.  More amazing things will happen.  Be present for them.  Be grateful for them.  It’s a great way to attract even more amazing things.

  1. Just what I needed to read right now, as I am going through a rough time, and trying so hard to focus on the positive. Your blogs and tweets are always so very inspiring. THANK YOU DYAN xxx

  2. I’ve always taken it differently. Crap does happen to everyone, it’s just part of life. You’re not a victim or put upon just because crap happens. As we used to say in the Army, ‘it’s nothing but a thing’, ie, unimportant. By accepting that, you’re free to really enjoy the non-crap that also happens without having to try to deny the fact of crap. Same idea, just a different spin. Peace.

  3. I’ve nominated you for the Lighthouse Award. You can find the guidelines on this page:

If you accept awards, please accept this with my gratitude…if not, I get it. They are lovely, but take a long time and it’s way, way, way too difficult to only thank a few people since so many wonderful people support us on our journeys. No worries. Thank you either way. Donna

I love to hear from you!
