When I was little my grandmother used to turn out the lights at night and tell me my eyes would adjust soon and I would be able to see in the darkness.  She was right.  Soon my eyes would adjust to the darkness and I could see a little.  When the moon was bright, I could see a lot.  It just took a little while.

When we feel that our lives are in darkness – maybe we just do not completely understand what is happening in our lives – we can pause for a moment.  We can let ourselves adjust to the situation.  Then we can relax and look at it with a clearer view.

When we are stressed and fearful about the dark, we just bump into everything.  But when we relax, we can see a little clearer very soon.
