Springtime Intentions ~ What can you do to get what you want?

Spring is such a hopeful season.  Flowers bloom, trees come to life, grass turns green and the air begins to warm up.  It can seem like anything is possible.  And it is.

Let’s take this opportunity to review our intentions for the year.  This year instead of making New Years resolutions, we talked about setting intentions.  If you wrote down some intentions for the year, get out your list and check it out.  If you didn’t set intentions for the year, this is a great time to do it now.

An intention, of course, is something we intend to do.  Simply by setting an intention, we set the idea in motion.  We begin to imagine it coming true.  We think about it.  Our thoughts are where everything begins.

But, if we set an intention and then pay no more attention to it – it’s very unlikely to come true.  There are more steps we need to take if we want to actually see our intentions come to life.

Check out your list of intentions and ask yourself what needs to be done next.  It does no good to go over what you have or have not done about it up until now.  Just look at the next step.  Focus.  Imagine it.  Visualize it in some daydreams.  We get more of whatever we are focused on, so focus on what you want.

Then choose two things you can do to see this intention come true.  Just two things.  When we map out too much, it can be overwhelming.  Just two steps closer to it can be really amazing.  Give yourself a deadline if you want to.  Put it on your calendar for sure.  Then get it done and feel joyful.  Celebrate the steps along the way.  This is a big deal.  It’s worth it.
