Taking care of ourselves is a very powerful thing to do. When we nourish and nurture ourselves, we empower ourselves in ways that no one else can. By caring for ourselves we build strength so that we can be more effective in the world. Self-care gives us the foundation to be successful at whatever we set out to do.
Taking care of ourselves includes physical, spiritual and mental aspects. It is a unique process for all of us. We all find different things nourishing. Some of the basics are eating healthy food, moving our bodies, mediation and prayer, and letting our emotions flow through us.
There are many benefits of self-care. By focusing on ourselves and addressing what we need, we build the strength to be there for others when they need us. We build our power when we take care of ourselves.
