Your Past Is Past

When we live in the past, we think about the past often.  It can be a part of our day to dwell in the past.  This can happen when we feel like we have unresolved things in our past; things we feel bad about, things that we feel dense and heavy about.

We do not move forward.  We do not flow.  Nothing happens except a rehashing of what has already come before.  We are stuck.  We can dam our emotions up inside of us and eventually we explode like a water balloon.  Living in the past just gets us more of the past.

What if we just let it go?  What if we let our emotions flow on through us?  What if we forgave and actually forgot?  What would our lives look like if we did not live in the past?

What if we understood that there is nothing we can do about the past – except to change our thinking about it and about ourselves?  What if we trusted that there is more good to come?  What if we accepted ourselves and had enough compassion for ourselves to forgive ourselves?  What would our lives look like if we all just forgave and let the past go?

When we let our emotions flow through us, we make room for the flow.  Flow is beautiful, expansive and we can trust that it will continue.  That our stream will never run dry.  Just let it flow.
