Exercise does not have to be torturous. It does not have to be a challenge. We choose to see it as a challenge many times, but that is a choice.
Exercise can be fun when we choose to move our bodies in ways that are fun to us. Exercise makes us feel better in so many ways.
What did you enjoy doing as a child? Riding a bike, roller blading, playing sports, swimming, running? How about jumping on a trampoline? Dancing? What do you remember about moving your body as a child?
Or we can take on a childlike curiosity about exercise that we have not yet tried. Skiing, skate boarding, hiking – what have you always been interested in trying?
Exercise does not have to be routine. It does not have to be a hurdle. We can choose to move our bodies in ways that are fun to us. And in doing so, we are giving ourselves the gift of physical fitness – which helps us out in all other areas of our lives. Just by having some fun.
