Contentment is not about feeling happy all the time.  When we do not feel happy, that is okay.  Contentment is about accepting all of our feelings, all of the time.

If the sky was always bright blue, we would miss so much.  We would miss gorgeous sunsets, beautiful storm clouds – all kinds of interesting things that happen in the sky.  There is even beauty in the gray sky when we look for it.

The more we accept our feelings, the more we can accept ourselves.  The more we accept our feelings, the more open our hearts become.  The more we embrace all of ourselves, the more we can find to embrace.

It is okay to accept all of our feelings, all of ourselves.  Even when we are not happy.  All of our emotions are real and valid.  We can choose to embrace them.  That is where we find contentment.
