Habits are things we do daily.  We all have things we do every day – we eat, sleep, brush our teeth.  We already have habits.

We can look at our habits and phase out the unhealthy ones – anything that is not loving for us.  And we can establish new, healthy habits.

Experts say it takes anywhere from 21 to 40 days to establish a new habit.  The thing is, if we want to make it into a habit – we have to do it every single day.  That is the important part.  We make our habits day by day.

If we want to make taking a walk a habit, we have to get out there and walk.  Every day.  If we want to make eating healthy a habit, we have to do it every day.  If we want to make meditation and prayer a habit – we have to do it.

We are perfectly capable of establishing new habits for ourselves – habits that help us love ourselves and our spirits, minds and bodies.
