Do You Resist Things That Are Good For You?

Why do we resist doing things that really might make our lives more wonderful?  We do what we know.  It is like a default button.  When anything happens, we usually react how we have always reacted.  Even when it is not comfortable.  Even when we miss out on our own greater good.

Take moments before you make reactive decisions and really sit with it before you say no.  Would it improve your life?  Might it add happiness to your life?  Ask yourself why you are saying no first.  If you really do not want it – by all means, say no.  But if it is just an automatic reaction – stop and think first.

We can travel the resistance and find our place of yes.  And that can completely change our lives.

  1. I think we mostly operate on auto-pilot. We are self-centered, selfish, and ignorant of others wishes or desires or moods. Quite difficult to be self-aware to the point of understanding how you feel and why you feel the way that you do.
