We get a lot of opportunities to practice forgiveness. We often get little things – like the sales clerk who says something snippy to us or someone who cuts us off in traffic. If it disrupts our peace, we can practice forgiveness and move on.
Forgiveness is an opportunity to release less than loving patterns.
If we do not practice forgiveness, these little things can build into something larger. We stop the flow of our lives when we do not forgive. We stay in the pain this way.
Forgiveness is really for us – not for the person who we believe offended us. It lets us go beyond the pain. It gives US a fresh start. Even with the little things.
