What would our lives look like if we did not spend any time criticizing ourselves? If we lived in the joy of the moment, instead of putting ourselves down in any kind of way? There are so many ways we dull ourselves down. Why do we do that?
Sometimes it is learned behavior, sometimes it is habit – sometimes we feel overwhelmed by people around us, who tell us negative things about ourselves. We could spend a lifetime looking at why we berate ourselves. Or we could stop.
We could catch ourselves when we say or think something less than wonderful about ourselves. We could start to really notice what we are thinking and speaking about ourselves. We can begin to change. We can begin to embrace ourselves just as we are – with all of the things we think are our flaws.
When we embrace ourselves as we are, real change happens.
