Our first thoughts are often automatic.  They are often based on pre-approved beliefs – some of which we have not taken the time to really question or explore.  Like things we learned when we were children.  Our first thoughts may not be the most loving choices we can make.

But after that first thought – especially if it does not feel completely loving – we can have all the second thoughts we want.  We can question where that belief came from – who taught that?  Where did we hear that?   When something feels off, it almost always is.  We can look into what we believe.

And we can surrender what is not helpful and loving.  No matter where it came from.  We can make all of our pre-approved beliefs loving when we have second thoughts.
