How often do we relate to someone because we have been through the same kinds of challenges as they have?  We hear their story and a chord is struck inside of us.  We feel a similar pain and somehow we feel that unites us.

Could we connect through our joy instead?  When we hear a wonderful story, could we let that strike a note that we are familiar with?  Could we feel a similar happiness – and in that happiness find the same kind of kindred connection?

The next time you hear an uplifting story, think about how you can connect with it.  Think about how you can feel connected with the person who is telling it.  Let’s meet each other in our joy.
