Sometimes we make things more challenging than they need to be. We do this for a number of reasons – but usually the big reason is that we think that is the “correct” way to do things. We think it is the way we “should” do things.
There is not just one way to do something. For almost every example, there are many different ways to do it. There is not a “correct” way to do a certain task. We all work, play and learn in different ways and at different speeds – and that is great. There are many ways.
When we find the best way to do something for ourselves, we make life easier on ourselves. Removing the rules – the “correct” ways – and understanding that there are many solutions to the same challenge – can be very helpful for us.
The next time you notice that you are not enjoying what you are doing – or that it seems way more complicated than it needs to be – ask yourself if you have made rules for yourself. Or if you have accepted rules that other people made up before you – but they just do not work now.
There is no one correct way for everyone. Find what works for you and make it easy for you.
