Take A Recess From Stress

Oh the stress of it all.  All of the things we have to do – or don’t get to do – or struggle to do.  All of the bills, all of the communication issues – all of the irritations of life.  After awhile we can feel like big balls of stress.

So let’s unwind.

Recess doesn’t mean running away forever – it means taking a break to play.  Recess helps us work out our energy and our bodies.  It gives us a rest from the rest of the day.  It can interrupt our stressful thinking – and that can be a very good thing for us.  An interruption can mean a whole new perspective.  A whole new perspective can mean a solution.

We got recess when we were in school – now we can give ourselves recess.   Every day if we want to.  We can find the time for the things that are important to us.

Take a break and get outdoors if you can.  Do something physical and let your mind be in the present moment.  Let go of the rest of the day while you play.  Take a walk, ride a bike, go swimming – it doesn’t have to be complicated.

Give yourself a break from the stress today.  Recess can lead to a healthier, less stressful life.
