Don’t Get Distracted

We can easily get distracted.  There are so many things competing for our attention all the time.  It can be easy to get sidetracked from our goals.

Sometimes being distracted is okay – maybe even helpful.  When we are looking for a solution and we just cannot seem to find it – sometimes it takes a break to breathe and all of a sudden – we find just the answer we were looking for.  It is often in the moments when we are not thinking about something that we find the solution for it.

However, being easily distracted all the time is not helpful.  Distractions take us away from our goals.  They take our attention off of what we really want.

We have the ability to focus on our goals – even with distractions all around us.  If it is really and truly important to us, we can choose to direct our attention toward it.  There will always be things around us that make some kind of noise – whether it is actual noise or emotional noise.  We can choose to put our attention on what we want to see more of in our lives.  That is really the only way to get what we want – to focus on it, despite all of the things that can sidetrack us.

What we pay attention to is what we see more of.  Pay attention to what you really want.
